  3. TM TM AEG's are recognized to be the most reliable on the market. They have the highest quality control. They also have high quality plastic bodies on all their models. They shoot around 280 FPS with .2's in stock form. They have real trademarks. They produce many models which no other manufacturer makes. They do not need to be maintained beyond cleaning the barrel. Their new v2 M4's (M4A1 and the S-System models so far) do NOT have barrel wobble any more, and the tabs will not break (they're metal instead of plastic now). The bare minimum of parts to replace to upgrade this gun to 400 FPS is a spring and metal bushings (although of course it's better to upgrade a couple of other parts as well). CA CA's older guns were plagued with quality control problems. CA's new guns for the past couple of years have been great. They're all metal where they're supposed to be, and shoot from 290-330 FPS with .2's. CA also has distributors in the USA, so they are cheaper to buy in the US than in over seas in almost all cases. They do not need to be maintained beyond cleaning the barrel. Some models have fake CA trademarks, but their M15 series uses proper licensed Armalite trademarks (which is the civilian, non-military, version of the M16). Some people still report quality control issues sporadically, although this is become exceedingly rare. The bare minimum of parts to replace to upgrade this gun to 400 FPS is a spring (although of course it's better to upgrade a couple of other parts as well). ICS + AE (Airsoft Elite) ICS's older guns were plagued with quality control problems. ICS's new guns for the past couple years have been reported to be OK for most people. They're all metal where they're supposed to be, and shoot about 300-310 FPS with .2's. They do not need to be maintained beyond cleaning the barrel. Airsoft Elite (AE) takes ICS MP5's and upgrades them to around 350-360 FPS with a couple better quality internal parts. Out of TM, CA, and ICS; ICS users are statistically more likely to have a problem with their gun. Most are perfectly fine, just make sure you're buying the newest version of the gun, and know that most people prefer TM or CA guns. The only problem I have with ICS is their M4 series. These use a split-level gearbox where it's easier to switch in a new spring (but most people never need to switch springs). This gun with the split-level gearbox cannot take any other brand of gearbox; so you can't install an aftermarket reinforced gearbox in an ICS M4. You need to modify the gun to fit an aftermarket hop-up unit into the gun (and the hop-up is the most important part of the gun for consistency of your shots). You can upgrade this gun to 400 FPS with just a spring (as long as it's a newer version with metal bushings......although of course it's better to upgrade a couple of other parts as well). Some complain about the quality of their internal gearbox parts, specifically the gears, but most of this talk is from the earlier versions.
